A few stories bear repeating fashion rendering with color torrent. For example, say the authors of the shooting of former Chicago Cubs Hotels 1949 Eddie Waitkus by a crazed fan who is obsessed with him. The incident formed the basis for a fictional story that is better known: The Natural by Bernard Malamud (1952). It is unfortunate that Nash and Zullo not capture their short pieces, although they refer to the Baseball Hall of Fame, if at all. Most of the stories are funny.
